Pump Curves
A Pump Curve is a performance graph or chart that helps you understand what a certain model or size of pump will do for you.
It is one of the key pieces of info we use to choose a particular pump size!
- In traditional centrifugal-style pumps it will tell you what flow-rate it can do at different system heads. Usually at a set speed.
- In Positive Displacement pump curves it will tell you how fast you need to run the pumps to achieve a certain flow-rate.
- Curves also tell us how much power or air a pump will use as it is operating at a particular duty point.
